Background - A One day consumers meet held on 28/02/07 at Village Devri Rukhara consist theme Solid Waste Management Under National Environment Awareness Compaign -2006-07, , the idea was to highlight the one of the right of HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT as a Consumer.

Inauguration - The programme inaugurated by Mr Vijay Bhan (village pradhan) he congrulated the organizers for arranging such a wonderful programme in his village he also said that there is a big need of such a programmes in rural areas, After that Mr. Rakesh Yadav of Consumer Guild also addressed the audience by suggesting to use proper arrangement for managing the solid waste generated in the house and as a consumer should avoid using polythene bag & other material which are bad for our environment.

Discussion- After that Mr. Abhishek Srivastava told that As a consumer we have a right to protect ourselves from pollution incurring from Industrialization and other activities but it is the rights which gives some duties also because consumer plays a vital role to ensure safe & Healthy Environment , like solid waste mostly consumer uses polythene bag for purchasing & use of our traditional jholas are blown away ,day to day use of CD , PLASTICS BOTELS , are not helping either and our environment suffering a lot Each household generates garbage or waste day in and day out. Items that we no longer need or do not have any further use for fall in the category of waste, and we tend to throw them away a) Household waste is generally classified as municipal waste, b) Industrial waste as hazardous waste, and c) Biomedical waste or hospital waste as infectious Waste. He also pointed out some relevant laws related to environment & environment protection he said that as a aware consumer we should also follow our duties towards our environment. After that speech many consumer asked several quarries related to environment law and present expert have given them answers.

Mr. Vipin Gupta ,Vijay Bhan student NGO MANAGEMENT LU also addressed the audience . Programme was coordinated by Anupam Srivastava Vice Chairman Consumer Guild.
